About OUR Ecological Impact

WHAT WE BELIEVE in

and how we build responsibly for you, your family and our planet 🌏

White Mountain Timber Frame L.L.C. produces durable structures by using time tested and resilient construction techniques. This way of building has proven over centuries, to result in a healthy built environment. It is our goal to ensure there is a sustainable, healthy environment around us all.

We promote healthy indoor air quality by developing our finished projects through the careful and considerate choices of the building specifications and material selections. This is all achieved through the expert applications of our building craftsmanship and our knowledge of traditional joinery as well as historic and modern building techniques.

We conduct our business with sustainability in mind by considering the environmental impact of building techniques and materials. We make our assembly choices by considering what the budget and the scope of work prescribe, focusing on the finished projects end aesthetics and understanding the end use of the project.

We consider the embodied carbon, chemical load, and resiliency of the material selections available for accomplishing the desired end result. This is how we prioritize the use of locally sourced, carbon sequestering, durable materials and techniques over the use of distantly manufactured, highly toxic, carbon emitting choices whenever it makes sense in the context of each unique project. We also look at the future maintenance cycles associated with each choice, in order to better understand what the full lifetime of the finished project will entail. We prioritize long maintenance cycles over trapping ourselves in continual upkeep patterns, thus furthering the ecological impacts of our buildings over time!

With 20 years of experience in construction and continuing education in the field, along with hours of research, we know that what we can offer is an enriching building experience!

OUR PLANTING INITIATIVE

  • looking to the future

    • When finished with a project, we participate in a tree planting initiative to regenerate biodiversity and promote carbon sequestration in our surrounding landscapes. This Initiative also provides building materials for the future, which helps us to offset some of the negative impacts on the environment that our building decisions have contributed to.

  • We encourage sustainable building models that will improve the health of the planet over time. We understand that the decisions we make and the industry we choose to support through our built environment are part of the solution for our future, Therefore we decide to support Regenerating forested ecosystems through intentionally planting carefully selected trees into landscapes with the goal of increasing biodiversity and rehabilitating habitats.
This Initiative is at No Cost to you, We believe in this work as being our responsibility to our children's future environment, therefore we volunteer our time/resources and planting locations to this task with joy.
